Oklahoma's Frank Shannon will continue to fight suspension
Oklahoma linebacker Frank Shannon, who was suspended earlier this month one year for allegations of sexual assault, will continue to fight his punishment, his attorney, Aletia Timmons, said at a press conference on Friday, according to Ryan Aber and Jason Kersey of NewsOK.com.
Timmons said the school "failed" Shannon and that the school was making her client a "scapegoat."
"He has been pained in a way that is in no way how he is," Timmons said about Shannon, adding that he will "stand on the sideline in silent protest" for Saturday night's home game against Louisiana Tech.

Shannon, who was the Sooners' leading tackler last season, was not listed on the team's depth chart released on Monday, and coach Bob Stoops said he wouldn't play.
"The situation is still unresolved and there I've got to proceed with the players I know are going to be available to me through the rest of the year," Stoops said.
Timmons said some universities are "going overboard" in Title IX sexual assault investigative mandates.
"I'm not running," Timmons said Shannon told her. "I'm not going to be branded as a rapist."
The school suspended Shannon on June 18 and six days later, Shannon received a stay at Cleveland County District Court, which allowed him to remain enrolled in school and continue working out with the team, according to the NewsOK.com report.
