Report: College Football Playoff, NFL TV conflict possible
College Football Playoff executives are concerned about a potential TV conflict that could arise if the NFL expands its postseason, according to George Schroeder of USA TODAY Sports.
The NFL has been widely expected to expand its playoffs, possibly for the 2015 season. Doing so would bring the playoff field to six teams by adding one wild card team from each conference.
The next College Football Playoff National Championship will be played Jan. 11, 2016, a Monday night. According to The Washington Post, the expanded NFL playoffs could also hold a game on that night.
"We thought Monday night was open, and we thought it was a great night for us," Bill Hancock, the Playoff's executive director, told USA TODAY Sports. "I would just hate to see people have to make a decision. … We hope they won't play Monday just because it's not fair to the fans."

The Playoff drew impressive ratings for both the semifinals and Monday's championship game, which scored the largest cable audience in history at more than 33 million viewers. The two semifinal games played on New Year's Day also out-drew the NFC Wild Card game between the Arizona Cardinals and Carolina Panthers on Jan. 3.
Hancock told USA TODAY Sports that Playoff officials have expressed their concerns about a potential conflict to the NFL.
Ohio State defeated Oregon in the inaugural Playoff title game, 42-20, on Monday.
