UNC's game-winning shot incites controversial ending

Controversy followed a game-winning shot in the North Carolina Tar Heels' NCAA women's tournament win over Ohio State Monday.

Controversy followed a last-second, game-winning shot that propelled the North Carolina Tar Heels women's team over the Ohio State Buckeyes and into the Sweet 16 of the NCAA women's tournament.

With time expiring and the game tied at 84, Tar Heel freshman Jamie Cherry hit a running jumper that stopped the clock at .6 seconds. Ohio State, which had a timeout remaining, inbounded the ball and attempted a full-court shot that missed. 

After Cherry's shot, multiple North Carolina players and staffers rushed on to the court with the clock stopped at .6 seconds, and were on the court when the final heave was attempted.

The referees conferred at the end of the game briefly at midcourt, but did not make any calls against the North Carolina bench for coming on to the court during play.
