Army, Navy don't plan to move annual game for College Football Playoff
Navy athletic director Chet Gladchuk told USA Today that Army and Navy have "no intention" of moving their annual game despite it occurring after the final College Football Playoff rankings are released.
Army and Navy play each season on the second Saturday of December, the only game that takes place on that day. The CFP field will be set on Sunday, Dec. 6, while the Navy-Army game is scheduled for Dec. 12.
"We have no intention of moving it. None," Gladchuk told USA Today. "It would show that we've realigned our priorities in a way that doesn't complement our mission. We can't do it. It's something that's that special."
Gladchuk said if not moving the the game means Navy will have to sacrifice the opportunity to participate in the CFP, "that's something we'll have to deal with."

Navy's contract with CBS calls for the game to be played on the second Saturday of December through 2018.
Under current rules, if Navy earned a spot in one of the New Year's Six bowls, it could lose to Army and still play in the bowl.
ESPN's Brett McMurphy reported in January that Mountain West commissioner Craig Thompson and Sun Belt commissioner Karl Benson each believe any team that plays after the selections are made would be ineligible.
The CFP management committee discussed the issue during its April meetings, but executive director Bill Hancock told USA Today that a resolution has not been reached yet.
