Notre Dame RB Tarean Folston injures knee against Texas, to have MRI
Notre Dame running back Tarean Folston will have an MRI after suffering a knee injury early in Saturday's blowout win over Texas.
Fighting Irish head coach Brian Kelly made the announcement after Notre Dame's 38-3 victory. Folston, the starting tailback, was hurt during a first quarter run after being brought down on what looked like a routine play. He walked to the sidelines and met with trainers, who wrapped the knee with ice, before heading to the locker room. He was spotted on crutches after the game.
Folston, a junior, ran three times for 19 yards before leaving the game. He ran for 1,359 yards and nine touchdowns in his first two seasons. Senior C.J. Prosise took over lead back duties and ran 20 times for 98 yards. Freshman Josh Adams carried five times for 49 yards and two touchdowns.
