Cameron Norcross takes position as Vanderbilt's offensive line coach

Fresno State offensive line coach Cameron Norcross accepted the same position at Vanderbilt on Wednesday according to a source.

This season was Norcross’s fourth in his position at Fresno State. Prior to that, the respected 39-year-old had spent his entire coaching career at his alma mater, Nevada.

He spent his last two seasons with the Wolf Pack as offensive line coach and run game coordinator. Before that, he was the program's tight ends and co-offensive line coach.

That included Norcross’s involvement in ex-Nevada coach Chris Ault’s creation of the pistol offense prior to the 2005 season. Norcross got his start in coaching as a graduate assistant for the Wolf Pack from 2001-02.

A Ely, Nevada native, Norcross was an offensive lineman for Nevada from 1997-99. He replaces former Vanderbilt offensive line coach Keven Lightner, who wasn't retained earlier this month.

Vanderbilt went 4-8 this past season under coach Derek Mason, who has a 7-17 record in his two seasons with the Commodores.
