Florida State’s booster club will pay nearly $1.3 million in legal fees for former quarterback Jameis Winston’s rape case, reports the Tampa Bay Times’ Matt Baker.

The money will reportedly come from the university’s licensing, concessions and gift shop sales, and cover much of the $1.7 million total in litigation costs for Winston’s case.

On Monday, Florida State reached a settlement with Erica Kinsman, the former student who accused Winston of rape in 2012. The university agreed to pay Kinsman $950,000 in exchange for dropping her case.

As part of the agreement, Florida State must also make a five-year commitment to spreading sexual assault awareness, including prevention and training programs.

Kinsman accused Florida State of indifference regarding her case, and also claimed that the school hindered the investigation so Winston could continue playing football.

Kinsman also filed a lawsuit against Winston, who was named to the Pro Bowl on Monday. He countersued her for defamation, and the case is still pending.
