Michigan State head coach Mark Dantonio receives pay raise
Michigan State head coach Mark Dantonio received a pay raise Friday, the university announced.
Dantonio will now earn $4.3 million per season, up from the $3.67 he was expected to make. The rest of Dantonio’s coaching staff will also receive raises.
“With a berth in the College Football Playoff this past season, coach Dantonio has again shown his excellence in building a nationally prominent football program,” Michigan State President Lou Anna K. Simon said in a statement. “He is an outstanding leader committed to MSU’s values who empowers his players to become the best Spartans they can be, whether on the field, in the classroom or as part of the MSU community.”

The 59-year-old has led the Spartans to a 36–5 record over the past three seasons, as well as three Big Ten crowns and two Big Ten Coach of the Year honors since 2010.

In Dantonio’s tenure at Michigan State since 2007, the Spartans have won the Rose and Cotton Bowls, while also advancing to the College Football Playoff this past season.
