Former Boise State player arrested for impersonating officer

Former Boise State Broncos offensive lineman Troy Bacon was arrested in Oregon on Tuesday for impersonating a police officer, according to multiplereports.

Bacon, who transferred to Portland State last year, has been under investigation since March 22 when an officer saw him allegedly yelling at a female driver alongside a road. Bacon told the officer he was an off-duty cop from California and had pulled the woman over for speeding and reckless driving. 

After an investigation and grand jury indictment, Bacon was arrested Tuesday.

“He’s definitely not a cop,” a Sherwood, Ore., spokesman told the Sherwood Gazette. “He’s not old enough to be a police officer.”

Bacon appeared to respond to the arrest on Twitter, writing, “[Two] sides to every story. Don’t believe what you hear.”
