Report: LSU officials to conduct ‘extensive evaluation’ of Les Miles’s future
After a stunning loss to Auburn on Saturday, LSU officials are set to evaluate the future of the Tigers’ coaching staff, The Advocate’s Ross Dellenger reports.
“An extensive evaluation of the program, normally reserved for after the season, is unfolding in Baton Rouge,” Dellenger reports. That review includes the status of Miles and offensive coordinator Cam Cameron, Dellenger adds.
The increased pressure comes after Miles bungled the clock management at the end of Saturday’s game. LSU appeared to have scored a game-winning touchdown as time expired but the officials determined after a review that the ball was not snapped in time and the touchdown did not count. Auburn won the game 18–13.

Miles has been LSU’s head coach since 2005 and won two SEC titles and a national title in his 12 years in Baton Rouge. He was rumored to be on the way out last year but he was brought back. Miles is under contract through 2019 and would have been owed $15 million if he was fired after last season.
