President Trump to UCLA Basketball Players: 'You're Welcome...HAVE A GREAT LIFE'

Donald Trump tweeted 'You're welcome' to the UCLA basketball players.

On Monday morning, President Donald Trump tweeted his response to the UCLA basketball players after they thanked him for assisting in their release from detention in China for a shoplifting arrest.

Trump tweeted: "To the three UCLA basketball players I say: You're welcome, go out and give a big Thank You to President Xi Jinping of China who made your release possible and, HAVE A GREAT LIFE! Be careful, there are many pitfalls on the long and winding road of life!"

Trump had previously tweeted wondering whether the LiAngelo Ball, Cody Riley and Jalen Hill would say thank you for his help. The three players took responsibility for their actions in a press conference at UCLA on Wednesday afternoon. They apologized and thanked President Trump. The three players have been suspended indefinitely from the team.

Trump was in Asia when the three players were arrested for shoplifting in three stores before they played Georgia Tech in Shanghai. Trump says that he brought up the issue with the Chinese president. White House Chief of Staff John Kelly spoke to the three players by phone over the weekend.

UCLA will play South Carolina State on Friday night.
