Heisman Odds After Nico Iamaleava Transfer: Oregon Ducks Dante Moore, Texas’ Arch Manning

Oregon Ducks quarterback Dante Moore had his Heisman trophy odds get a boost after Tennessee Volunteers quarterback Nico Iamaleava transferred to the UCLA Bruins. Iamaleava's odds plummeted.

Oregon Ducks quarterback Dante Moore currently has the sixth best odds to win the 2025 Heisman trophy according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

The five players with better odds are LSU Tigers quarterback Garrett Nussmeier at +800, Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning at +800, Clemson Tigers quarterback Cade Klubnik at +1000, Ohio State Buckeyes wide receiver Jeremiah Smith at +1200, and Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback Julian Sayin at +1300.

A notable player that is missing from the top of this list? Quarterback Nico Iamaleava. Iamaleava transferred from the Tennessee Volunteers to the UCLA Bruins during the spring transfer window.

Prior to the spring transfer window, Iamaleava was among one of the favorites to win the 2025 Heisman trophy behind LSU’s Nussmeier and Texas’s Manning. His odds fluctuated but were consistently in the top five. Iamaleava’s Heisman odds which were once in the +1000 range, have dropped to +8000. This isn’t even in the top 25 of 2025 Heisman odds.

Iamaleava and Tennessee had major NIL disputes and it resulted in Iamaleava shocking the college football world and entering the transfer portal. The saga came to an end just days later, as it was announced he would be transferring to UCLA.

The 20-year-old Iamaleava is coming off of his first full season as a starting quarterback in college. At Tennessee last season, he threw for 2,616 yards and 19 touchdowns, helping lead them to the College Football Playoff. Now, he heads back to home to Southern California to suit up for the Bruins.

With Iamaleava’s odds dropping, Ducks’ quarterback Dante Moore saw his odds get a slight boost. Moore previously had odds of +1600, but those are now at +1300.

2025 will be Moore’s first season as Oregon’s starting quarterback. In 2024, he sat behind Ducks starter Dillon Gabriel. Prior to that, he started at UCLA in 2023 as a freshman before transferring to Oregon that following offseason. In nine games at UCLA, Moore threw for 1,610 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Since Dan Lanning took over at coach for Oregon, both of the quarterbacks he has had have been in the thick of the Heisman trophy race. In 2023, Bo Nix finished third in Heisman trophy voting. In 2024, Dillon Gabriel finished third in Heisman trophy voting. The Ducks offensive coordinator in both of these years was Will Stein. Stein is once again the offensive coordinator this upcoming season.

Will Moore be able to seamlessly be able to fit with the offense like Gabriel did a year ago?
