Mascots have been as big a part of college football as tailgating and many schools have live animals appear at football games. From Uga the bulldog, Mike the LSU tiger, and Ralphie the Colorado buffalo. The University of Alabama-Birmingham almost joined their ranks with a live Komodo dragon. The school’s athletic director considered having one at the team’s new stadium for fans to meet and take pictures with. Only thing is that the reptile eats meat and spits saliva that paralyzes its prey.
