Mississippi State Hires Mike Leach as Its Next Head Coach
After parting ways with head coach Joe Moorhead, Mississippi State made a big splash hiring Washington State’s Mike Leach to fill the vacancy, making the SEC West even more interesting. Leach will have his work cut out for him as he joins a division that already has Nick Saban, Ed Orgeron, Jimbo Fisher and Lane Kiffin. Known as one of the forefathers of the air raid offense, Leach is 139-90 over 18 seasons at Washington State and Texas Tech. He led Washington State to five consecutive bowl appearances and joins a Bulldogs program that finished the 2019 season at 6-7.
