Bode Miller crashes, cuts leg in World Championships super-G

United States skier Bode Miller crashed during the World Championships super-G event on Thursday in Beaver Creek, Colo., and he suffered a deep cut on his right leg. The 37-year-old was ahead of the leader's pace when his hand got stuck in a gate. He was flipped down the mountain and cut his right calf.

The 37-year-old was ahead of the leader's pace when his hand got stuck in a gate. He was flipped down the mountain and cut his right calf.

He was able to ski down the mountain after the fall and waved to the crowd at the bottom of the hill.

The event marked Miller's first race since he had back surgery in November. Miller has won six Olympic medals and has been a member of the last five United States Winter Olympic teams.
