According to some ace detective work by Chris Creamer at SportsLogos.net, the demise of the Cleveland Indians offensive "Chief Wahoo" logo seems imminent. Creamer points out the rise of the simple red "C" on hats and helmets, combined with the disappearance of the chief from several official MLB web pages, as the damning evidence.
With all the negative publicity Dan Snyder garners for his obstinate stance on the Redskins name, maybe the Indians are being very smart with this subtle move. Although, exactly because of people like Snyder, maybe the Indians are also skirting a chance to take an important stand.
