Cardinals fans tried to lure David Price to St. Louis by buying him lunch

Wednesday July 23rd, 2014

David Price is probably the hottest commodity on the trade market as the July 31 deadline approaches. Several teams are said to be interested in acquiring him, including the St. Louis Cardinals

Price and the Rays are in St. Louis this week for an inter-league series, and the (so-called) Best Fans in Baseball™ are doing everything they can to show how much they want Price in Cardinal red.

According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Price was eating lunch near Busch Stadium before Monday's game and was informed that some anonymous person had picked up his tab. But as long as it wasn't Cardinals GM John Mozeliak, it probably won't have too much of an effect on where Price ends up after the deadline.
