Trickett, recently named the Mountaineers' Week 1 starter, isn't to blame for wooing the now-engaged Saban; he was six when it went down.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Stephen J. Nesbitt tweeted Trickett's full quote after the QB was asked by reporters how well he knows the Alabama head coach:

His daughter was my first kiss back in the day. So, yeah...I don't know if I should have said that. (laughs) She's actually engaged now. Coach Nick is one of the greatest there is. My brother worked for him. He was a GA for him when he first be to Alabama (sic). And we've known him for years, family friends and just one of the best coaches out there.

For clarification, we were like six years old! Just so everyone knows that.

Kristen laughed off the revelation in a tweet of her own.

West Virginia takes on Alabama in its season opener Saturday in the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.
