Stephen F. Austin has foam axe giveaway for National Lumberjack Day

The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks apparently want their fans to look the part on Friday when the women's soccer team plays Lamar.

The school is giving away foam axes to the first 250 people who attend the game in honor of National Lumberjack Day.

There will also be a halftime performance by the Sylvan Lumberjack Team.

For those who are ignorant about National Lumberjack Day for some reason, the holiday was formed in 2005 by two people who wanted an excuse to eat a lot of pancakes and waffles and who were upset at all the hoopla surrounding Talk Like A Pirate Day, which comes one week before. National Lumberjack Day also later became known as National Pancake Day.

This makes sense, probably.
