David Ortiz surprised 3 Army veterans with trip to the World Series

Tuesday October 21st, 2014

David Ortiz will be analyzing the World Series for Fox this year instead of playing in it, and he will be taking three special guests with him for Game 1 in Kansas City, after surprising a group of Army veterans on a tour of Fenway Park with tickets.

The veterans were simply told to show up at Fenway Park, where the Boston Red Sox slugger surprised them with a tour of the grounds and with tickets to the game. While there they will be honored during the seventh inning stretch as part of the Home Base Program, which works to help veterans with their transition back into civilian life.

Big Papi is as charming as ever with the group, showing off the some of the dents he has put in Fenway's legendary left field wall, and thanking those in the group for all they have done to keep the United States safe.
