Judge dismisses dance-off case against Longwood's Shaq Johnson

It turns out Longwood University guard Shaquille Johnson actually didn't make all the wrong moves during his part in what witnesses describe as a violent, post-dance off altercation in August, according to Ben Miraski of Mid-Major Madness.

Johnson, a junior guard who started his career at Auburn, turned himself in to authorities in September after being charged with malicious wounding, which is a felony offense. It was thought at the time that Johnson participated in a dance off at a party, lost the dance off, and then knocked several teeth out of the mouth of his dance adversary, a student at a nearby school.

The prosecution, however, has decided to drop the case after a new throng of witnesses emerged defending Johnson's role in the incident and offering a game changer: there was actually no dance off at all. It is still unclear how a student from Hampden-Sydney College got his or her teeth knocked out.

Mid-Major Madness reports Johnson was not suspended from the Longwood team, and was permitted to practice - basketball, not dancing.
