Hornets are selling an 8 lbs. cheeseburger at games this season

The Charlotte Hornets may care more about their fans than any other sports franchise. First they changed their name from Bobcats back to the beloved Hornets logo, and now they have unveiled an eight pound burger which features cheddar and swiss cheese along with mushrooms, pickles, lettuce and, of course, bacon.

The Charlotte Hornets may care more about their fans than any other sports franchise. First they changed their name from Bobcats back to the beloved Hornets, and now they have unveiled an eight pound burger which features cheddar and swiss cheese along with mushrooms, pickles, lettuce and, of course, bacon. It's so delicious that we couldn't wait until next week's Concession Food Item of the Week to share it with you.

The wonderful creation comes courtesy of Charlotte native Aaron Cox, who is currently the executive chef at Levy Restaurants, and will cost fans a hefty $70, according to Grub Street.

The pile of beef and happiness is called the Hugo's Boss Burger, and since team mascot Hugo the Hornet's boss is none other than Michael Jordan, I think it is safe to assume MJ will be taking one of these monsters down in his owner's box during each of the team's home games.
