Jazz player threw his mouthguard into the stands and a fan grabbed it

Tuesday December 9th, 2014

Utah Jazz center Enes Kanter did not care for a call in the third quarter of the team's game against the Sacramento Kings on Monday, so he took out his mouthguard and hurled it into the crowd, where a fan reached and grabbed it out of the air, for some reason.

Why Kanter would think it is OK to throw a gross, spit-covered piece of plastic into the stands is hard to understand. Why a fan would do anything but dive out of the way of a used mouthguard is impossible to understand.

Jody Genessy of the Deseret News reports that one of the team's staff came over and retrieved the wayward piece of plastic. Let's hope said staffer brought along some hand wipes.
