The University of Wisconsin-Madison is one of the United States' great public universities, with a thorough selection of high-quality academic programs.

Vegetable sciences must not be one of them.

Wisconsin and Nebraska faced off at the Kohl Center in Madison Thursday night, and ESPN cameras caught these fans on the way into a commercial break:

Corn is not a vegetable. Corn, for the uninitiated, is a grain.

Obviously, the shirts are just in good fun... though the scoreboard indicates the fans' timing wasn't the greatest.

Wisconsin did pull away for a 37-27 lead by halftime, however.
