After a fan at a Yankees-National spring training game Sunday was hit by an errant bat, New York legend Reggie Jackson hand-delivered an olive branch into the stands.

Nationals catcher Jose Lobaton's bat flung out of his hands and into the seats down the first base line at George M. Steinbrenner Field when he foul-tipped a 2-1 pitch from Yankees pitcher Adam Warren.

The bat appeared to strike an older, female fan sitting above the Yankees' dugout.

Yankees manager Joe Girardi prompted an usher to give the woman the bat to keep. He then conferred with Jackson - a Yankees 'special advisor' - who signed a ball, walked up into the stands, and presented it to the woman.

The extent of the woman's injuries, if any, were unclear, although she was responsive.

One imagines the baseball is worth slightly more than the cost of admission to the game.
