Rays rookie Allan Dykstra worked hard to get to the major leagues. And what happened when he finally arrived? He fouled a batting practice bunt attempt right into his own face. Welcome to bigs, kid.

Teammate Tim Beckham certainly felt Dykstra's pain, and may have uttered a naughty word in response.

The mishap left Dykstra with a pretty nasty black eye.

On the whole, it ended up being a pretty good day for Dykstra, though. In the fourth inning, he picked up his first career hit on a single to left field off of R.A. Dickey
