High schooler takes his 93-year-old great-grandmother to prom

Drew Holm and his date turned a lot of heads at the Crothersville (Ind.) Junior-Senior high prom last week, as the teenager showed up with his 93-year-old great-grandmother to the end-of-year dance.

Drew Holm and his date turned a lot of heads at the Crothersville (Ind.) Junior-Senior high prom last week, as the teenager showed up with his 93-year-old great-grandmother to the end of year dance.

Drew told Wave-3 News that when he told the family matriarch that he did not have a date, Katie Keith, who last attended a prom in 1940, jokingly offered to go with him. The teen decided it was a great idea and set about persuading Keith to join him at the dance.

He said, 'Will you go to prom with me?' I said, 'Drew, my goodness, I don't want to go to the prom with you. Surely you can find a real cute girl to go with you.'"

Holm said, "She was like, 'No, go find someone prettier.' I was like, 'No, I can't do that. You're the prettiest woman.'"

School administrators waived the school's 21-and-under age limit for the prom, and Keith hit the dance floor with the teens, while still getting home for her 9:30 p.m. bedtime.
