Will Blackmon tweets revised Bible verse after Tom Brady suspension

After New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was suspended four games for his role in the Deflategate scandal, Seattle Seahawks defensive back Will Blackmon poked fun at the controversy with a revised Bible verse.

"For Goddell so loved the NFL he gave his one and only son... Roger 3:16," Blackmon tweeted Tuesday morning. The tweet is a twist on John 3:16, which reads, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

In March, Blackmon signed with the Seahawks—who lost to Brady's Patriots in Super Bowl XLIX, as you'll likely remember. He spent the past two seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars, but was released in February.

Tabloids did not disappoint with Tom Brady suspension headlines

Blackmon's tweet might fly under the radar in the post-suspension aftermath, but it's clever nonetheless.
