Zlatan Ibrahimovic once asked who David Beckham is

Zlatan Ibrahimovic once asked his autobiographer who David Beckham is.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic published his autobiography, "I Am Zlatan," in 2013. Ibrahimovic worked with writer David Lagercrantz, who had the task of figuring out the best approach to the book.

Lagercrantz recently talked to The Telegraph about what it was like to work with Ibrahimovic on the autobiography, and shared an exchange the two had while going through the process.

“I told [Ibrahimovic] I had just read David Beckham’s book and that was such a boring book, actually," said Lagercrantz. “And he had a good answer: ‘Who the f--- is Beckham?’”

Lagercrantz also explained to The Telegraph what it was like when he sent the book's manuscript to the forward and received feedback.

“When my father criticized me he said things like, ‘David, I’m so proud of you, you’re such a talented guy and I like your new haircut, but…” That is not the way we do it with Zlatan Ibrahimovic," said Lagercrantz. "The first thing he said was: “What the f--- is this? I never said this!’ But after a while I think he understood what I was trying to do. Nowadays he thinks it’s really his story.”
