Swimmer realizing he has won gold may be GIF of the year

Brazil’s Leonardo De Deus set a new Pan American Games record in the 200m butterfly on Tuesday, barely beating Peru’s Mauricio Fiol to claim the gold.
As thrilling as the race sounds, what happened immediately after is likely to achieve greater fame, as De Deus gave the internet an all-time great reaction GIF.
The Brazilian seemed to take a few seconds to adjust after the end of the race, leading to him slowly transitioning from tired to elated as he reaches for the lane divider and realizes he has won a gold medal.
