Straight Outta Compton has the wrong White Sox hat

Straight Outta Compton has been met with critical and financial success since its release last week, but it seems the movie failed in something even more important: historically accurate sports logos.
The Chicago Sun-Times reports that the film features Eazy-E wearing the White Sox current old English lettering logo back in 1986, although the logo did not appear until 1991.

The Sox did use a very similar logo, but with a red outline, on their uniforms from 1949 to 1963, although it did not appear on the team’s hats at the time.
Let’s all just be thankful the movie did not feature anyone wearing the team’s ill-fated attempt at bringing shorts to the diamond from the 1976 season.
