Billy the Marlin dove on concrete for a foul ball

Thursday September 10th, 2015

The Marlins mascot Billy the Marlin showed tremendous hustle on Wednesday night, hitting the hard concrete to grab a foul ball in the third inning.

Billy is a kind and caring sailfish though, and he was not simply trying to grab the souvenir off the bat of Miami leftfielder Christian Yelich for himself, but rather so he could bring the ball to a young fan.

The mascot did have some advantages over the other spectators going for the baseball though, as he has built in padding to protect himself on landings, as well as a natural weapon to ward off competitors with his pointy bill.
