Blackhawks players are really terrible at guessing what emojis mean

In some cases we’d chalk it up to a language barrier, but Jonathan Toews had a tough time, too.

The Blackhawks had a good idea for a fun video: show players a sequence of emojis and guess what movie title they’re supposed to represent. For example, a lion and a crown: The Lion King. Easy enough, right? Not for the Blackhawks. 

Really, Jonathan Toews? Cheetah King?

In some cases we’d chalk it up to a language barrier. Maybe Niklas Hjalmarsson didn’t see too many American movies as a kid in Sweden. Toews and Corey Crawford had a hell of a time, too. Maybe they’re just too old? Emojis are a young man’s game. Get Connor McDavid and Jack Eichel in here.
