Rugby player sidelined after slicing hand while cutting frozen bagel
Leicester rugby captain Ed Slater won’t be playing for a little while after he cut himself while making breakfast.
Leicester Tigers captain Ed Slater was supposed to make his return to the lineup for Saturday’s game against Sale after miss a month with a knee injury. But then he made breakfast.
Slater missed the game after he gave himself a nasty gash while trying to cut a bagel.
“The moral of the story is don't get a really sharp knife and try to cut a frozen bagel,” the club’s rugby director, Richard Cockerill, told the BBC on Tuesday. “The knife slips, slashes your hand and you have 14 stitches and can't play.”

If you’re not squeamish, Slater posted a photo of the damage on Twitter.
This would have never happened in America, where we’re fortunate enough to get our bagels fresh.
