Nyquist, ridden by Mario Guitierrez (in purple), won the 142nd Kentucky Derby on Saturday by 1 1/4 lengths. Here are some other images that caught our eye on May 7.

Nyquist won in front of 167,227 spectators, the second-largest crowd in Kentucky Derby history.
