John McEnroe will be played by Shia LaBoeuf in a new movie about the tennis star’s rivalry with Bjorn Borg.

Shia LaBeouf has signed on to play John McEnroe in the upcoming film Borg vs. McEnroe, which will focus on the 1980 Wimbledon final between the American and Bjorn Borg.

Borg will be played by Sverrir Gudnason and Borg’s coach, Lennart Bergelin, will be played by Stellan Skarsgaard in the film, which will be directed by Janus Metz Pedersen, reports Variety.

As the film will likely include quite a bit of tennis, both stars have been working on their games for two months already. LaBoeuf, who already has the volatility to match the famously hot-tempered McEnroe, told the media at the Cannes File Festival that his backhand is “getting there,” according to The Guardian.
