Does LeBron know Matthew Dellavedova is a restricted free agent?

Either LeBron James doesn’t know that teammate Matthew Dellavedova is a restricted free agent, or he just announced to the world that he won’t be returning to the Cavaliers.

Either LeBron James doesn’t know that teammate Matthew Dellavedova is a restricted free agent, or he just announced to the world that he won’t be returning to the Cavaliers.

The backup point guard reportedly signed a four-year, $38 million offer sheet with the Bucks on Friday, meaning that Cleveland would have the option to match that offer and keep him in Cleveland. 

Shortly after news broke, James wished Dellavedova the best of luck with his new team.

“Congrats to my brother! @matthewdelly on his deal!” James tweeted. “Good luck in Milwaukee! Very deserving to you and your family. 1”

Maybe LeBron is so immersed in his vacation with Chris Paul and Dwyane Wade that he wasn’t mindful of Delly’s situation. Or, perhaps James is the one who makes all the Cavs’ personnel decisions.
