Wild officially change goal song to Prince’s ‘Let’s Go Crazy’

The Wild are paying permanent tribute to late Minnesota legend Prince.

The Wild are paying permanent tribute to late Minnesota legend Prince, announcing Tuesday that their goal-scoring song is now officially “Let’s Go Crazy.”

Minnesota started playing the jam after goals during the playoffs last season, following the death of the prolific musician and artist on April 21. After surveying season-ticket holders, the Wild cemented the tradition.

“Our in-arena experience is designed for the fans, so it’s great to be able to show them we take their feedback to heart,” Wild vice president of brand, content and communications John Maher said in a statement. “At the same time, it’s our privilege to celebrate an iconic hometown artist that clearly has had an incredible impact on our community and the world.”

The Wild are set to debut the song on Sept. 27 during their first preseason home game.

Now we’re just waiting on the all-purple uniforms.
