It is never too early to start your fantasy football research, and we here at SI Fantasy want to provide you with the best information possible heading into your drafts. Our "Draft or Pass" video series takes a closer look at a fantasy player or two that will be talked about often leading up to fantasy drafts. Are our hosts targeting one of these players specifically? Are they avoiding one entirely?
Today's video focuses on Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster.
Draft at his current ADP: YES
Everyone couldn't wait to get their hands on Smith-Schuster last season coming off a 111/1,426/7 season in his sophomore campaign. But an early injury to Roethlisberger and an injury of his own limited the former USC star to just 12 games and an underwhelming stat line of 42/552/3. Will he bounce back into WR2 territory this season with a healthy quarterback? Or will the distractions about his future in Pittsburgh hold down his fantasy production, even if nothing has been decided yet. From AllSteelers reporter Donnie Druin:
"Up to this moment, we know little about Smith-Schuster's place in Pittsburgh beyond 2020. We know that Roethlisberger enjoys having Smith-Schuster to throw to, and we know that the Steelers are willing to cater to Roethlisberger at this stage in his career.
"However, we also know that this league is a business, both for player and organization. Smith-Schuster may prove himself worthy of a brinks truck following the upcoming season, and may want top dollar in order to continue wearing black and gold."
Some won't be able to stomach Smith-Schuster's ADP given his low level of production last season, but he is still an elite talent with a ton of upside that has already been realized two seasons ago. Will you take the chance and draft him?
