Packers’ Season to Date

Following a two-game road trip, QB Aaron Rodgers and the Packers return home to Lambeau Field. Green Bay (7-2) posted a 31-24 win in Kansas City prior to completely underperforming during a 26-11 loss to the Chargers in Los Angeles. With their bye week following this matchup, expect a motivated effort from the Packers in Week 10.

Panthers’ Season to Date

After opening with two losses, Carolina (5-3) has won four-of-five, including a 30-20 taming of Tennessee last week. With QB Cam Newton now on injured reserve, backup Kyle Allen is entrenched as the starter while the Panthers pivot moving forward. MVP candidate RB Christian McCaffrey leads the NFL with 13 touchdowns.

Panthers’ Betting Record: ATS 5-3-0 OVER/UNDER 6-2-0

QB Kyle Allen: 1,291 pass yards with 9 TD and 4 INT

Panthers vs. Packers Recent History – First Meeting Since 2017

This is the first meeting between these clubs since 2017 when Green Bay lost 31-24 in Carolina. Aaron Rodgers returned from an eight-week absence in that matchup, but clearly had some rust to shake off. Rodgers threw three interceptions in the loss. Surprisingly, these teams have not played a same opponent during the 2019 NFL season.

Panthers vs. Packers Final Thoughts and Pick

There is a lot on the line here and this contest will have a tangible playoff feel to it. Carolina trails New Orleans by two games in the NFC South and sit eighth overall in the NFC postseason standings. The Panthers' defense tops the NFL with 34 sacks and they are third in total takeaways with 19.

Nothing went right for the Packers last week as they were held to season lows across the board on offense. On defense, 26 points allowed was second only to the 34 they gave up during their Week 4 loss to Philadelphia. The offense line needs to protect Rodgers, something they have struggled to do thus far. Rodgers has been sacked 20 times so far this season.

Pick: OVER 47 Points

Season Record: 0-1
