We’ve known for several months that the iconic 13th hole at Augusta National has been lengthened due to the work of @eurekaearthplus which has chronicled changes to the course via overhead photography.

But until Monday, we didn’t know exactly how long the par-5 hole would play at the Masters.

Augusta National released its media guide for the 2023 tournament and as part of it came the hole-by-hole yardages for what is now listed as a 7,545-yard, par-72 course.

The only change from 2022 was to the 13th, which now measures 545 yards.

That is an increase of 35 yards from last year and promises to make the tee shot far more challenging. It is also 60 yards longer than when Tiger Woods won his first Masters in 1997.

Last year, Masters chairman Fred Ridley acknowledged that the hole was no longer being played as it was designed, with mid- and even short-iron second shots into the hole. But the club never announced it would be making any changes.

Last year, the 13th played as the third-easiest hole—behind the par-5 2nd and par-5 8th—with an average score of 4.852.
