Best Golf Push Carts for 2023

SI Golf's list of the best golf push carts to buy right now.

Paul Liberatore is the founder of Golfers Authority, which reviews the world's best golf products and gear.

Would you rather walk or ride when you play golf? For me, it’s an easy choice. I’d walk every time if I could. Granted, that’s difficult during the Arizona summers when temperatures can top 120 degrees. But still, I walk as often as I can. I can get more into the round mentally and play in rhythm, and I generally score better when I walk.

The problem is I’m not as young as I used to be, and carrying my clubs isn’t always an option, thanks to a bad lower back.

So, when I walk, I use a push cart for my clubs. There are a lot of different push carts out there, and for a while, I had a hard time finding one that fits my exact criteria. But I also found a few others that set themselves apart from the competition.

So, if you like to walk like me and need a push cart to make your time on the course more enjoyable and efficient, keep reading. I’ve compiled a list of what I consider to be the 10 best push carts in 2023.

What You Should Consider When Buying a Push Cart

If there’s one thing that’s certain about golf equipment, there are plenty of choices. Whether it be a new pair of shoes, a driver, a putter, or just about anything else, you will not be limited in your options.

But when you’re considering buying a push cart, the first thing you need to remember is budget. Essential push carts don’t cost you much money, but they don’t have many amenities. On the other hand, the fanciest electric push carts on the market can cost hundreds, even thousands of dollars, and will include all sorts of cool features to make your life easier. The bottom line is, don’t be a victim of shiny object syndrome; be realistic about your budget.

The next factor to consider is whether you want a manual push cart or an electric one. Your budget will play a large part in this decision, as electric push carts are more expensive.

However, if it’s a decision you’re considering, each has pros and cons. To start, manual push carts require much less maintenance than electric carts. Electric carts just have more components that need frequent care. We’re talking about batteries, chargers, remotes, and motors, to name a few.

But the course's convenience and ease of use are hard to beat with electric carts. It’s up to you to weigh these pros and cons and make the best decision accordingly.

Next on the list should be the weight of your push cart, its maneuverability, and ease of storage. Manual push carts are typically lightweight, fold easily, and can be stored in small spaces. Electric carts are much heavier, require pre-round care (like charging the battery), and take up more room.

But it’s hard to argue against electric options' ease of use and maneuverability. You can steer the best electric carts down the fairway with nothing more than a small remote control as you stroll along. Again, there’s no correct answer here. It’s all about what makes the most sense for you in finding the best golf pushcart.

Best Overall Push Cart - Bag Boy Nitron Auto-Open

At first glance, the Bag Boy Nitron push cart doesn’t look that different from most of the other manual push carts out there. It has three wheels, folds up compactly, and seems adequately functional.

But that’s only the surface.

Setup with this push cart is unbelievably efficient. It unfolds quickly and is further assisted by Nitro Piston technology, which helps spring the compacted cart open.

The Top-Lok attachment keeps the Nitron from twisting and turning offline.

Weighing just 16.75 pounds, this is one of the lighter push carts on the market.

Folded up, this push cart measures just 19” by 13.5” by 22”.

Additional accessories include storage space for your scorecard, pencil, smartphone, cup holder, umbrella holder, and an extra storage bag underneath the handle.

There’s nothing extra special about the Bag Boy Nitron push cart. However, it’s made by a trusted manufacturer, is easy to set up and collapse, and has all the necessary components to make your walk around the course convenient and enjoyable.

Best Push Cart for Most People - Clicgear Model 4.0

Since I started writing about golf gear, Clicgear has led the way as a premier maker of push carts. I’ve owned a few over the years and have never had a single complaint.

For that reason alone, I had little doubt the Clicgear Model 4.0 would find its way onto this list when I tested it out.

This push cart is ridiculously easy to set up and take down. I clocked it multiple times, and folding and unfolding can be done in under 10 seconds.

Compared to models from previous years, this push cart’s saddle sits significantly lower. That increases stability, especially on uneven ground.

The front wheel hand brake is easy to switch and off, and you won’t ever have to worry about the cart running away when the brake is engaged.

I also love the dynamic adjustability of the handlebar as someone who’s on the taller side, not having to bend over constantly does wonders for my back throughout a round.

Additional features of the 4.0 include four accessory mounts, an oversized storage console, an undercarriage storage net, and an umbrella mount and bracket.

The 21-pound frame of the 4.0 is built to withstand rough terrain and wear and tear. However, entirely collapsed, it measures just 13” by 15” by 24”.

Clicgear is a name I’ve trusted for a long time, and I’m confident you’ll have similar sentiments when you give their 4.0 push cart a try.

Best Remote Controlled Push Cart - MGI Zip Navigator

For those waiting to hear about an electric push cart, here’s your chance.

Let’s look at why I think the MGI Zip Navigator is the best electric push cart on the market in 2023.

If pushing your clubs around the course isn’t fun, this is the push cart for you. Its fully directional remote allows you to stroll down the fairway at your own pace.

You also have total control over the speed. While this cart has intuitive uphill and downhill speed control, you can always manage it via the remote.

That’s just the beginning, though. The patented internal gyroscope automatically tracks where the cart is headed. You never have to worry about it wandering offline or encountering an unforeseen obstacle.

Powered by a 24v 380wh lithium battery, you’ll have no problem playing 36 holes on a single charge.

The Zip Navigator also comes with a three-year warranty.

While this isn’t the most economical push cart on the market, its ease of use and reliability make it well worth the investment.

Best Four Wheel Push Cart - CaddyTek Four Wheel Caddycruiser

If you’re looking for a stable push cart, four wheels are better than two or three.

That’s precisely why the CaddyTek Caddycruiser gets the vote for the best four-wheel push cart of 2023.

This cart folds up and down with the single click of a button and can be ready to go in just a few seconds.

The EVA maintenance-free wheels have plenty of traction and give the cart enough balance to remain upright on virtually any terrain. I’ve had this cart on some pretty gnarly slopes, and it has yet to tip over.

The cart’s handle is easily adjustable based on height and arm length. It also has plenty of storage, including a hard-shell compartment on top of the handle and a roomy canvas compartment below the cart’s spine.

Simple in its design, priced reasonably, and exceptionally stable, the CaddyTek Four-Wheel push cart is an excellent option for any golfer who likes to walk.

Editor’s Choice - Bag Boy Quad XL

I’m a fan of four-wheel push carts over those with just three wheels, so the Bag Boy Quad XL is my editor’s pick. The added stability gives me an extra layer of security, if nothing else.

But it’s not only that. The Bag Boy Quad XL is surprisingly lightweight for a push cart of its size. That’s because its frame is made of lightweight aluminum that also affords easy maneuverability.

The handle-mounted parking brake provides ready access and is easy to engage and disengage.

This push cart comes with all the customary features like above and below handle storage and cup and umbrella holders.

There’s nothing flashy about this push cart, but I love its functionality, ease of use, stability, and durable build.

Best Three Wheel Push Cart - CaddyTek Three Wheel

CaddyTek wasn’t a brand I was all that familiar with until I started researching push carts seriously this year. But let me tell you, they make a quality product.

Their three-wheel push cart is one of the most affordable on the market, and it’s also really functional.

I love the fact that it unfolds with the click of just a single button. The setup takes just a few seconds.

Its aluminum frame is lightweight yet highly durable at the same time.

The EVA maintenance-free wheels and 31” base provide plenty of stability and make pushing the cart seemingly effortless.

Also included with the CaddyTek Three-Wheel Pushcart push cart are complex- and soft-shell storage, an umbrella holder, and an easily accessible compartment for all your valuables.

Once again, this push cart might not be a Ferrari, but it’s well-built and has all the features you need and none you don’t.

Best Electric Golf Push Cart - Alphard Golf Club Booster V2

As I mentioned earlier, buying an all-out electric push cart isn’t the cheapest proposition in the world. But if budget isn’t an issue, get the best one you can find.

But, speaking for myself and many of my Golfer’s Authority readers, budget is a massive part of the equation no matter what piece of golf equipment we have our eyes on.

Believe it or not, I did some digging and found a more affordable electric option for those who don’t want to push their clubs manually but don’t want to pay thousands of dollars for an electric cart.

It’s the Alphard Electric push cart.

The Alphard Golf Club Booster V2 turns your regular manual push cart into an electric cart you control with a remote.

One of the things I like about this product is that it only takes a few minutes to convert your regular push cart into an electric one. All you have to do is remove the back wheels and install the brackets.

The Club Booster V2 has a remote control, handle strap, USB cable, brackets, wheelie bars, and an AC/DC charger.

Best Folding Push Cart - CaddyTek Explorer V8 SuperLite Four Wheel

The problem with many push carts is that they take up a lot of storage room.

That couldn’t be further from the truth with the CaddTek Explorer V8 SuperLite push cart. Folded up, this push cart measures just 15.75” by 13.4” by 24”. It hardly takes up any space at all.

Unfolded, it measures 42” by 25.4” by 45.1”.

Another cool feature is that you can adjust the front wheel width to fit any size golf bag.

I also like the adjustable handle height. Whether short or tall, you’ll be comfortable pushing this cart around the course.

I highly recommend the CaddyTek Explorer V8 SuperLite push cart, which is simple, affordable, and highly functional.

Most Compact Push Cart - KVV Three Wheel

With all the golf gear I’ve accumulated over the years, being efficient with storage room is critical. That’s why I was so excited when I found out about the KVV three-wheel push cart.

Fully collapsed, this push cart’s dimensions are only 19.1” by 14.6” by 23.2”.

However, unfolded, it’s plenty sizable to fit nearly any golf bag, and the frame is lightweight yet surprisingly durable aluminum. I’ve had this push cart in some rough spots and never had to worry about its structural integrity.

The EVA wheels are maintenance-free and provide plenty of traction, even on wet or slippery surfaces.

While this push cart’s most notable feature is its compact size, it has all the amenities you need to get around the course comfortably and efficiently.

Best Budget Push Cart - SereneLife Two Wheel

Like every other piece of golf equipment, push carts can be expensive. And for casual golfers, there’s no need to spend hundreds of dollars on the very best ones.

The best budget push cart I tested this year was the SereneLife two-wheel push cart. While this push cart is cheap and lacks many of the amenities of other push carts, it’s reliable and has all the basic features you need.

Priced well under $100, the Serenelife push cart is the perfect budget option.

As long as you keep these things in mind and do some of your research, I’m confident you’ll find the ideal push cart for your game and enjoy your time on the course in no time.
