Nominated: J. Stuart “Stu” Francis of Hillsborough, Calif., to serve as president of the U.S. Golf Association, the USGA announced. Francis has been a member of the USGA’s Executive Committee for five years and has served on other committees with the association. He is a senior managing director for Evercore, a banking advisory firm. Francis has been a competitive amateur golfer, qualifying for three U.S. Amateurs and three Canadian Amateurs and, while a student at Princeton, two NCAA Championships. Also, the USGA nominated Christopher Cupit of Johns Creek, Ga., and Courtney Myhrum of Pittsburgh to the 15-member Executive Committee. Elections will be held Feb. 29 at the USGA’s annual meeting in Pinehurst. N.C.
