Golf news: PGA Tour retains Sanford Health for coronavirus testing
Announced: By the PGA Tour, that Sanford Health will conduct onsite testing of players, caddies and other personnel for coronavirus, known as COVID-19, through the rest of the season, officials announced Wednesday. Play resumes next week on the PGA Tour at the Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial in Fort Worth, Texas, and on the developmental Korn Ferry Tour at the Korn Ferry Challenge. Sanford Health will deploy mobile testing units, arriving onsite on the Saturday before the tournament and remaining through Thursday before traveling to the next-closest site on the PGA, Korn Ferry or Champions tour in the continental U.S. The PGA Tour expects to test about 400 individuals at each site. Sanford Health, a health-care provider based in Sioux Falls, S.D., already had a business relationship with the Tour. The company title-sponsors a Champions Tour event, the Sanford International, on Sept. 11-13 in Sioux Falls.
