2020 Masters: Play resumes after nearly 3-hour weather delay at Augusta National

Play resumed at 10:20 a.m. EST Thursday after a nearly three-hour delay in the first round of the Masters Tournament.
A heavy line of thunderstorms rolled into east-central Georgia early Thursday, suspending the first round. After a delay of 2 hours and 45 minutes, play resumed.
For a tournament delayed by seven months because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the suspension proved to be yet another setback in a golf season unlike any other. Only a few of the early groups had started play as the Masters opted to use both tees for the 92-man field because of shorter daylight hours in the fall.
Tiger Woods was headed to the 10th tee to begin his round at 7:55 a.m. EST when the horn sounded at 7:35 to suspend play.
The forecast for Augusta calls for inclement weather Thursday before conditions are expected to improve for the final three rounds.
