Golf Channel cancels ‘Feherty’ show

David Feherty, a 5-time European Tour winner who achieved acclaim as a network TV analyst, says his show ends after 10 years

Canceled: After 10 years and nearly 150 episodes, David Feherty’s eponymous show “Feherty,” by Golf Channel. Feherty confirmed to Dave Shedloski for a report on GolfDigest.com that the contract for the comedic talk show was not renewed. “I don’t know what the reasons were for the decision,” Feherty told Shedloski. “I think it was a combination of things. We haven’t been able to shoot any episodes because of COVID; the Golf Channel move [from Orlando, Fla., to NBC Sports’ headquarters in Stamford, Conn.]; I don’t know. Maybe it was just time." A Golf Channel spokesman would not disclose a reason for the cancellation. "It always sort of amazed me the [number of] people that watched," Feherty said. "Ten years is a whole lot more than I thought I would do. I loved doing it.” Feherty, 62, a naturalized American from Northern Ireland, won five times on the European Tour and played on the Europeans’ 1991 Ryder Cup team. He agreed in December to a three-year contract with NBC and Golf Channel that will keep him on the networks’ broadcasts of PGA Tour events.
