USGA to allowed ‘limited number’ of fans at U.S. Open, U.S. Women's Open
Announced: By the USGA, that an unspecified but limited number of spectators will be allowed at the U.S. Open and the U.S. Women’s Open, both of which will be played in California, the association said Monday in a news release. The U.S. Women’s Open will be played June 3-6 at The Olympic Club’s Lake Course in San Francisco. The U.S. Open is scheduled for June 17-20 at Torrey Pines’ South Course in San Diego. Ticket information will be available at uswomensopen.com and usopen.com. Spectators must wear face coverings at all times and abide by social-distancing guidelines. California residents must show proof that vaccination against COVID-19 has occurred at least 14 days before the tournament or that a negative test result has been received; out-of-state fans must provide proof that vaccination against COVID-19 has occurred at least 14 days before the tournament. Since the LPGA resumed play this year, the women’s tour has not sold general-admission tickets and has had only minimal attendance. The LPGA plays this week in Los Angeles with similar restrictions on spectators. The PGA Tour, by comparison, has been easing its attendance restrictions since starting the Florida Swing in late February.
