Keegan Bradley, Chez Reavie Separate From Field in Third Round of Travelers Championship

The conditions for this week’s Travelers Championship at TPC River Highlands have been ripe for scoring and Saturday proved to be no different as a number of contenders went low to put themselves in the mix going into the final round.
However, two names stood apart at the conclusion of the third round: Keegan Bradley and Chez Reavie.
Bradley continued his electric week in Cromwell, Conn. with a 6-under 64 on Saturday, which improbably was his worst round of the tournament thus far. The performance still kept him atop the leaderboard at 21 under, one shot clear of Reavie, who carded his second consecutive 63 to stay right on the 37-year-old’s heels.
Throughout much of the round, it seemed as though the field was gaining on the lead group of Bradley, Reavie and Denny McCarthy. Justin Thomas (14 under) shot a 62 and Patrick Cantlay (16 under) posted a 61, only to both be topped by the red-hot Rickie Fowler, who carded a 10-under 60 and rocketed up the leaderboard into a tie for fourth place at 15 under overall.
Nevertheless, Bradley and Reavie weathered the storm, trading the lead throughout the afternoon. The latter began the day with seven birdies in his first 13 holes, leaping past Bradley and into the top spot on the leaderboard by taking advantage of a stretch in the middle of his round.

The momentum then flipped back in favor of Bradley later in the round as Reavie cooled off with pars at No. 14 and No. 15. Then, on the par-3 16th hole, Reavie launched his tee shot well left of the green and was forced to settle for bogey.
Bradley on the other hand, landed his tee shot just left of the pin and tapped in for a birdie, making for a two-shot swing.

Reavie pulled one shot back on the 18th with a looping birdie putt, distancing himself from the rest of the field by four shots and setting up a thrilling conclusion on Sunday.
