Play Suspended at Players Championship Due To Inclement Weather

The second round of the Players Championship was suspended at 4:27 p.m. ET on Friday due to inclement weather in the TPC Sawgrass area.
According to NBC’s TV broadcast, Round 2 will resume on Saturday morning once the expected storms pass.
There are 24 groups who have yet to complete their second rounds. The tournament expects that those groups will need approximately three hours to complete their rounds and determine the cut line for Saturday's third round.
As of Friday afternoon's stoppage, South Africa’s Christiaan Bezuidenhout and Canada’s Adam Svensson shared the lead at 8-under par, through 14 and 11 holes respectively.

Ben Griffin, Min Woo Lee, and Collin Morikawa are tied for third place behind the leaders at 6-under for the tournament. Lee has three holes to play, while Morikawa has eight.
World No. 2 Scottie Scheffler sits at 5-under par for the tournament. Like Morikawa, Scheffler has eight holes left to play.
