Steph Curry Drills Hole in One at American Century Championship

Steph Curry has done the improbable once again.

While his prowess on the basketball court proceeds him, Curry reminded the sports world of his talents on the golf course Saturday when he drained a hole in one in the second round of the American Century Classic.

Entering the day already atop the leaderboard at the celebrity event, Curry stepped to the tee box on the par-3 7th hole at Edgewood Tahoe South, which was playing at 152 yards on Saturday. The shot was on line from the second it left his club and the Warriors star watched closely as the ball bounced once and rolled back into the cup for an ace.

What followed was pure pandemonium. Curry quickly spiked his club and hat and began sprinting toward the green while holding both of his arms up in celebration—and perhaps a little bit of disbelief. He was met by a raucous reaction from the crowd around the 7th as he continued his lap around the hole, pumping his fists and taking in the moment.

Needless to say, the hole in one did wonders for Curry’s lead in the celebrity event, vaulting him even further ahead of the field. The tournament doesn’t use traditional golf scoring, but rather a points-based system depending on a player’s particular score on a given hole.

Curry’s ace netted him eight additional points, bringing his total for the event up to 43, eight points clear of the next closest competitor with the second round still ongoing.
